I have so many nature photos that I really tried to trim 'em down to get just some very very few that I really like. Hence, for now, there are only a few images on this page.

Infrared Photography

Infrared photography is an interesting effect. Effectively infrared is heat. You can use an infrared filter on a normal camera lens with a normal camera body. I used a Hoya 72R filter, meaning that it is a narrow-band filter centered at 720 nm (the normal human visual range ends around 600-700 nm). They then have to be processed (otherwise the entire image is just a bright red hue). The above images are of he same orchid cluster with the camera mounted on a tripod. They were both taken with a 300 mm lens at f/5.6; the first (visible light) was taken at 1/100 sec, and the second (IR) taken for 30 sec.

This second set of IR images I think is really weird. They were both taken with a 25 mm lens at f/25. The visible light image was taken for 4 seconds and the IR taken for 4 minutes (240 sec). What I think is weird about the IR shot is that the water seems to have almost disappeared completely.
